About Us

Precision wine-making, combined with sustainable practices, yields the best results.

We produce the wine in an artisanal way, in small quantities, and family-managed.

Each wine gets the amount of attention that it needs, and this is the key in a dedicated winery.

 The story behind Rokovi wines

The name Rokovi has two meanings. Starting with the most relevant, it is the Family Name of our house. Our surnames changed in the times passing, but the name Rokovi is still here. It is a symbol of our wine-making tradition starting in the ages around the fifteenth century. There is a historical book that reflects this ancient memory. It is recorded that they produced wine, which continues today.

The second reason for the name Rokovi is the similarity with the word “Rok” in the Friulian language, which means “Ram” (male sheep). From here is our logo and branding.

Vineyards on the hills

There is also a third part of the story behind the brand, which is on the hill slopes on the way to the village Višnjevik. Near the road, we have a small piece of land where an old legend resides. The story of two Hunnic soldiers retreating from the lost battle in the current lands of Italy carried with them a golden artifact in the shape of a goat. They, in fear that the treasure would be stolen, buried it in the surroundings. No one knows exactly the location, people have used the metal detectors and all sorts of ideas, digging and searching. We didn't find the treasure, but we found the golden taste of our wines.
